This has been an incredible year for the Wood County Green Party. Looking back, it's hard to believe just how much we accomplished. Our county party continues to grow with about 350 people now on our mailing lists. We've participated in countless protests, a parade, the Wood County Fair, tabled at many events, and testified in Columbus regarding the terrible plan for Ohio to call for a national Constitutional Convention. Such a Convention can literally rewrite the constitution, eliminating presidential term limits, clearing the way for Elon Musk to be president, and violating our rights to free speech and assembly. 

We're proud of what we Greens have done this year, but we're not done, yet. We are happy to present our Voters' Guide for 2025. Ten volunteers vetted over 70 candidates. Click HERE to download a copy. It was a very challenging year to produce this, our fourth Voters' Guide. It seems politicians from both the ordinary Parties are going to great lengths to actually hide their positions on issues and political beliefs. This is especially true of the MAGA Republicans who, in 2024, used to crow about their conspiracy theories and irrational beliefs. They have gone quiet and instead their communications are all pictures of pets and sports teams. But, we managed to suss many of them out, anway. 

What was perhaps the most troubling this year was the lack of participation. There were only 29 contested races, while there were 59 uncontested or vacant races. Some villages had no candidates for any open offices. Greens believe that Grassroots Democracy is of the highest importance. The problems at the highest levels of our politics are glaringly clear. However, the base is also dying. People are also fleeing the major Parties. Unaffiliated voters are now the largest block in Wood County. 

The answer to these problems is to revitalize our Democracy by allowing alternative parties to form and participate. Parties like the Green Party.
